On March 1, a phone call took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq Fuad Hussein.
During the telephone conversation the ministers exchanged views on the military escalation and tense security situation observed in the Middle East.
It was emphasized that it is necessary for all parties to demonstrate restraint, refrain from steps that would increase tensions and give priority to diplomatic channels to resolve existing disputes.
The ministers noted the importance of coordinated efforts by the international community and emphasized that the protection of the civilian population and infrastructure is a priority.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the telephone conversation.
