The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Iraq held a roundtable discussion dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev
On May 10, 2025, a round table dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Iraq with the participation of the heads of leading Iraqi think tanks.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Chargé d'Affaires Elnur Mammadzade provided detailed information to the participants of the event about the unique services of the National Leader to the Azerbaijani state and people and the work he did for the progress of independent Azerbaijan.
At the round table organized with the participation of heads of leading think tanks, Elnur Mammadzade provided information on the unique services of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state, our country's foreign policy, the COP29 presidency, Azerbaijan's position on the ongoing processes at the regional and international levels, and the future development prospects of cooperation with Iraq, and answered numerous questions from the participants. The round table provided detailed information to the participants on the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agenda and the reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories.
At the same time, on May 11, Lieutenant General Balasim Hamed Hassan, Head of the Department of Protection of Diplomatic Missions of the Iraqi Ministry of Internal Affairs, Hüseyin Khancer, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Baghdad and a group of 5 writers led by Yaşar Altibarmak, Chairman of the Erbil Writers' Union, visited the Embassy as a sign of respect for the dear memory of the National Leader of Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev.
