Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Mahmoud al-Mashhadani
On May 7, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met the Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Iraq.
During the meeting bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq, inter-parliamentary cooperation, and regional issues of mutual interest were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that historically friendly and mutual respect-based relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq have developed in various fields, including political, economic and humanitarian, and that interparliamentary relations are one of the important components of these relations.
The Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and mutual visits between legislative bodies in terms of promoting mutual understanding, noting that there is a favorable ground for further expansion of this cooperation.
During the meeting, regional and international security issues, the current situation in the Middle East, as well as the realities of our region in the post-conflict period, our country's recovery and reconstruction, mine clearance and peace efforts were also discussed in detail.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
